| Back in the late 50"s when the California hotshots were bringing in Ferrari's and Maserati's to race, Max Balchowsky had his own way to go racing. Max built a series of home built cars known, because of their color, as Old Yeller. Built in 1959, Old Yeller II was based around a 401 Nailhead Buick V8 dropped into a tube chassis wrapped in an aluminium body reputedly fabricated in a single day. Max, Dan Gurney, Carrol Shelby and Bob Bondurant would win many races in this car against the best Europe had to offer. This is a multi-media kit with resin body and white metal ancillaries along with superb photo-etch and decals which include the wide whitwalls for the tires. Instructions include paint chip and photo of finished model. |
